BAZHENA Waldorf Initiative (Dnipro)
Bazhena school is the second waldorf initiative in Dnipro started in 2015 as a part of an alternative program within an existing public school. There are four classes, which parents in the public school can choose to join. Enthusiastic teachers, dedicated to Waldorf, are paid by the municipality, and parents pay a small fee for pedagogical material. When sufficient families do not enroll, the class closes and families are combined with its paralell public school class.
With over a million inhabitants, Dnipro, which has a very large Jewish community, is a major cultural, educational and scientific centre in Ukraine, with a significant presence in the metallurgy and machine tool manufacturing industries.
Dnipro has always had a major economic and political influence (Brejnev was from Dniepro).
