Waldorf Classes “Dyvosvit” at school #94, Kharkiv (Valentyna Protsenko).
120 students are on the list of Waldorf Classes (in fact, we teach 51 children). 7
teachers are teaching the Waldorf Classes and 3 of them are studying at Ukrainian
Waldorf Teachers’ Training. We study online since our children and teachers are in
different cities in Ukraine. The 2nd-grade teacher is in Kharkiv and meets with the
children in person twice a week. We thank the Sofia Foundation for financial support
and payment of the rent for the premises for live classes. Grades from 1 to 8, except
for the 3rd. That is, there are 7 grades in total. We have developed different creative
methods to teach online. Even class plays are performed online! Being rather small
the salaries became even 20% less than they used to be before.
The main challenge is the uncertainty regarding school No. 94. Currently,
there is active construction/equipment of "underground" schools in Kharkiv. The
teachers have decided to be together. Parents support us and it is valuable to us. We
come up with creative ideas for joint online meetings with our initiative school
community. The pedagogical work with children inspires.
